Cherubim, flowers and musical instruments realized in repousse cover the top and bottom surfaces of this antique sterling silver chatelaine glasses case. The top 1/3 of the front of the spectacle case is hinged to open giving easy access to the royal blue velvet lined interior. The Victorian era case measures 5 1/2" in height, 1 5/8” in width and approximately 5/8” in depth. When dangling from the attached chain, the piece measures 8 3/4" in height. The cases were made from 1874-1911 and could well deserve a revival. Circa: 1879.
