My dream came true 37 years ago when I started my own business. In the beginning, I designed jewelry made from high quality antique buttons that resembled antique jewelry. I was a featured designer in the very elegant Vendome, which was located in Kaufmann's, a major department store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I sold my entire button collection, and with that money I began purchasing antique and estate jewelry.
Along with the jewelry business, I was a contributing editor with VICTORIA magazine, a Hearst publication. Many pieces of jewelry from my shop were featured on the pages of VICTORIA. This was the start of my mail order business. Learning about the legend, the craft, the history, and the art of jewelry makes me want to share my knowledge with those that have the love for old and beautiful jewelry. As a jewelry historian, I have been lecturing on antique and estate jewelry. Having won numerous awards as an artist, I love to design and add my personal style to jewelry for those that desire custom design. After years of intense study, my passion has grown for the love of well made, hand detailed jewelry of fine design. A one of a kind item is special, and that is what gives one a stamp of individuality. Over thirteen years ago I opened a charming shop. It has lace on the ceiling and paisley fabric on the walls. My fantasy jewel box was formerly a chicken coop! It was a fun transformation. Be sure to look at the picture on the home page. |
